Motorists can avoid <br /> delays by sing Amazon Parkway and Harris Street. The closure may be extended to <br /> Thursday ~ orning, September I, if additional time is needed to complete the work. <br /> Th Eugene Public Works Department is installing a raised crosswalk and narrowing <br /> the roadw y to make it safer for pedestrians to cross Patterson Street. The new design will <br /> <br /> i <br /> include si ewalk access ramps for persons using wheelchairs. <br /> <br /> ~i <br /> Th project has been planned for mo?-e than five years and is part of the Public Works <br /> Departure is ongo?ng effort to incorporate pedestrian-friendly designs on city streets and to <br /> improve p destrian safety Several hundred pedestrians cross Patterson Street at this location <br /> daily.
