The existing lane markings <br /> will be rem ved, and new lane markings will be painted to provide two travel lanes in each direction <br /> and a center left-turn lane. Motorists are cautioned to be aware of the new lane configurations. <br /> The tretch of state highway remains under construction. The installation of sidewalks and <br /> ~~II ' driveway ap ons on the west side of Highway 99 will be completed before the travel lanes are <br /> ~r <br /> restriped. ildisli Construction, the contractor on the improvement project, will retain enough <br /> working are outside the travel lanes to install sidewalks on the east side of the highway and begin <br /> landscaping n both sides of the highway as weather pern~its. <br /> Con truction will move back into the travel lanes next spring as the contractor makes <br /> subsurface r pairs and prepares to apply the final layer of pavement on the two-mile section of <br /> Highway 99 The final paving will be done next year when the weather is warm and dry. When <br /> completed, t ie heavily traveled section of Highway 99 will include two travel lanes in each direction, <br /> a center to lane, bicycle lanes and sidewalks on both sides of the highway, and traffic islands at <br /> several inter ections. The $4.2 million project is being funded by contributions from the state, Lane <br /> County, and the City of Eugene and through assessments to local property owners. <br /> <br />
