When portions of the bank <br /> collapse in o the creek, it causes blockages in the channel and also produces large amounts of <br /> silt which ash downstream. Funding for the $170,000 contract comes from City stormwater <br /> funds bud eted for channel maintenance. <br /> Ce terline Construction has been awarded the contract to place rock in the bottom of <br /> the creek t prevent further erosion and shore up sections of the bank that have sloughed off <br /> and washe away over time. An old bend in the creek in the area of Bailey Hill Road will be <br /> recompact d to prevent the creek from undercutting the bank as it meanders toward Fern <br /> Ridge. W llows will be planted to stabilize the banks and reduce future erosion. The project <br /> is expecte to take about a month to complete. <br /> Du ing construction, cyclists and pedestrians using the bike path on the north side of <br /> the creek ~11 be directed through a parking lot to bypass construction just east of Bailey Hill. <br /> <br />
