This configuration would <br /> be particul rly convenient for bicyclists and pedestrians. <br /> A majo feature of Alternative 4 is the proposed Oakmont Connector, a <br /> ' new roadway and overpass that would link Coburg Road with Centennial <br /> Boulevard. This alternative would do the most to minimize the impacts to <br /> Coburg Road It would provide a safer access to I-105 and improve access to <br /> 'the Centenn al Boulevard/Autzen Stadium area. <br /> Altern tive 5 would concentrate needed improvements within or adjacent <br /> to the exis ing Coburg Road corridor by widening Coburg Road and adding <br /> several new connections. <br /> Altern tive 6 creates a new route that would link the north and south <br /> sides of th Willamette River with a new bridge near the University of <br /> Oregon. Mo a than any other alternative, it would minimize the need for <br /> improvement within the existing Ferry Street Bridge corridor. This <br /> alternative would present an opportunity to phase in the widening of the <br /> <br /> ' bridge if r construction occurred. <br /> A low- opacity bridge dedicated to public transit and carpool/vanpools <br /> is the focu of Alternative 7.
