Numerous accidents have occurred at <br /> the River Avenue intersection, and changes are being made to improve traffic <br /> safety. raffic will be detoured to the westbound River Road exit. <br /> Motorists can reach businesses on River Avenue by turning off River Road onto <br /> River Ave ue. <br /> Crew will widen Division Avenue at the intersection of River Avenue to <br /> create a estbound acceleration lane. In addition, crews will permanently <br /> close the eastbound access between Beaver and River Avenue to reduce the <br /> number of accidents that have occurred in this area. <br /> The roject is a joint public/private partnership that includes the <br /> participa ion of the city of Eugene, Lane County, the state of Oregon, Eugene <br /> <br /> III Water and Electric Board, Eugene Sand and Gravel, and Morse Brothers. <br /> For 'nformation about the road closure or the project, call 687-5218. <br /> <br />
