r <br /> NEWS RELEASE <br /> July 20, 19 0 <br /> CONTACT: m Larsen, Public Works Department, Project Manager, 341-5886 <br /> From Sandr Gleason, Public Relations Coordinator, 687-5523 <br /> FOR IMMEDI E RELEASE <br /> Ii CITY 0 OVERLAY CENTENNIAL BOULEVARD FROM COBURG TO AUTZEN STADUIM <br /> ~ Begin ing Monday, July 23, Eugene Sand and Gravel, under contract to the <br /> city of Eu ene Public Works Department, will begin construction of an overlay <br /> on Centennial Boulevard from Coburg Road to Autzen Stadium. The $393,000 <br /> project is the first phase of a two-year project to improve Centennial. The <br /> first phas of construction will be completed by the first week of September. <br /> The second phase will begin next summer and will run between Autzen Stadium <br /> <br /> ~r and I-5. <br /> Durin the construction this summer, the contractor will resurface the <br /> i road and i stall curb, gutter, and sidewalks along the north side of <br /> ~ Centennial Boulevard. Part of the project includes removing a pump station, <br /> located on the southeast side of the Club Road and Centennial intersection, <br /> and installing new gravity sanitary sewer lines. <br /> Accor ing to Tom Larsen, from the Public Works Department, the city is <br /> having the pump station removed and the new gravity lines installed to reduce <br /> maintenanc problems and operating costs associated with the pump station. <br /> The new li es will feed directly into the North Bank Interceptor that runs <br /> along the orth side of the Willamette Riveer to the Eugene/Springfield <br /> Wastewater Treatment Plant. <br /> more <br /> <br />
