PUBLIC WO S DEPARTMENT • 858 PEARL • EUGENE, OREGON 97401 <br /> <br /> I ~ <br /> NEWS RELEASE _ <br /> August 29, 1990 <br /> CONTACT: aul Anderson, Project Supervisor, 687-5291 <br /> From Sandr Gleason, Public Information, 687-5523 <br /> FOR IMMEDI TE RELEASE <br /> CI Y TO PAVE GARDEN WAY AND THREE STREETS IN WESTWARD HO AREA <br /> On Th rsday afternoon, Aug. 30, Wildish Corvallis Construction Co., <br /> under cont act to the city of Eugene, will begin repairing Garden Way and <br /> three othe streets in the Westward Ho area. Wildish will repair and overlay <br /> Garden Way from Harlow Road to approximately 100 feet south of Sisters View, <br /> i <br /> ' then will ove to Westward Ho, to Oxbow Way, then onto Conestoga. The work <br /> will take bout three days to complete. However, if it rains, the project <br /> may be del yed. <br /> As pa t of the repairs, Wildish also will install valley gutters to help <br /> drain the ater that now stands on the streets during wet weather. <br /> ' One 1 ne of traffic will be kept open when a street is under <br /> constructi n. Since Garden Way and Sunshine Acres Drive are the only access <br /> I, ~ roads into the Westward Ho area, one of them will remain open at all times, <br /> and direct onal signs will be posted to guide motorists through the <br /> constructi n. <br /> i <br /> The c ty also will post "No Parking" signs along each affected street 24 <br /> hours befo a construction begins. Wildish will work with property owners who <br /> I <br /> j I need to ge in to or out of their driveways. <br /> The $ 5,570 project is funded through the city's street preservation <br /> program. <br /> 4~ 4~ <br /> <br />
