The project is part of the city's <br /> facilities maintenance program. <br /> During most of the project, the sidewalks adjacent to City Hall, along <br /> 7th Avenue between High and Pearl streets and along High Street between 7th <br /> and 8th av Hues, will be closed. The closed sections will be used by the <br /> contractor as staging areas to unload old roofing debris and to load new <br /> materials nto the roof. Also, when the contractor is working over an <br /> <br /> 3 entrance i to the City Hall courtyard, the entrance will be closed to protect <br /> pedestrians from falling debris. <br /> City all will be re-roofed with a 50-millimeter thick, reinforced, <br /> single-ply PVC watertight membrane. The old insulation has an "R" value of <br /> 11. Replacing it with insulation having a "R" value of 25 should increase <br /> the energy fficiency of the building. <br /> The co tractor began work this week, starting just to the north of the <br /> west entrap a into City Hall on Pearl Street, between 7th and 8th avenues. <br /> The project is scheduled for completion about mid-November, depending on the <br /> <br /> j weather. <br /> more <br /> <br />
