The <br /> event is p rt of a local observance of National Public Works Week. <br /> Superinten ent Margaret Nichols is the featured speaker for the opening <br /> ceremony, hich begins at 11 a.m. <br /> I The t eme this year is "Environmentality," which focuses on the work <br /> that Publi Works staff does each day to protect the quality of life in <br /> Eugene. D ring the day-long event, community residents will have an <br /> opportunit to operate or ride in Public Works equipment, such as street <br /> sweepers, b ck hoes, dump trucks, aerial lift trucks, and much more. Many of <br /> the display include actual hands-on involvement.
