On Monday, September 16, the city's seven parking control <br /> officers ill switch from a manual system of issuing tickets to handheld <br /> 'I portable omputers. Parking violations will be entered directly into the new <br /> computer and a ticket will print out automatically. <br /> Acc rding to Kay Kronholm, Public Works parking supervisor, the new <br /> system will be much faster and easier for parking control officers to use and <br /> I <br /> will all w them to track outstanding parking citations more quickly. <br /> "Us ng the old system, the officers had to enter the time, date, and <br /> citation number by hand; now it will be done automatically. With a single <br /> keystrok the officers will be able to identify types of violation and bail <br /> data. T e street location and the make, model, and color of the car can be <br /> selected from a standard list using only one or two keystrokes.
