Aug st Construction of Eugene has been awarded the $79,600 contract to <br /> do the wor which will be paid for from the city of Eugene's capital <br /> improvemen project fund. <br /> The p oject includes installing a new weir at the downstream end of the <br /> Alton Bake waterway. The west end of the Alton Baker pool may be drained <br /> during con truction of the new dam. The east end, in the area of the boat <br /> rental, wi 1 remain filled with water. <br /> Louis Kroeck, a landscape architect with the city's Engineering <br /> Division, aid the new bridge will be wider and will feature 1880's-style <br /> carriage 1 ghts at both ends. <br /> more <br /> <br />
