The Planning Commission and Tree <br /> Commissi n have reviewed the plan and recommended it to the City Council for <br /> adoption. <br /> The two commissions are in agreement on all policies except two: Trees <br /> on Priva a Property and Heritage Trees on Private Property. The revised plan <br /> shows the language proposed by both groups. The difference between the <br /> recommend tions of the two groups is whether the retention of trees on <br /> private p operty and heritage trees on private property should be "mandatory" <br /> or "volun ary." <br /> The lan contains a number of goals and policies that will guide the <br /> city in i s actions and decisions affecting trees within the city limits. It <br /> addresses many of the tree-related concerns voiced by citizens in the past <br /> few years <br /> Cop es of the plan are available at the Public Works Building, 858 <br /> Pearl Str et; the Permit and Information Center, 244 East Broadway; and the <br /> Planning ivision at City Hall, 777 Pearl Street. <br /> A pu lic hearing on the .plan is scheduled for April 13, at 7:30 in the <br /> City Coun it Chambers, 777 Pearl Street. <br /> <br />
