Numerous reports have been received from around the state
of Eugene s supposed "new ban on these signs until 30 days before an election."
According to Patti Lathrop, Eugene's Sign Program Administrator, a candidate
may post igns as soon as his or her candidacy has been declared. The only
time limi imposed by the sign ordinance is the requirement that political
signs be emoved within two weeks after an election.
Mrs. Lath op also reminds campaigners that political signs must be placed
''I
entirely n private property and should be no larger than 32 square feet.
Ij •
Further information may be obtained by contacting Mrs. Lathrop at the city
Building D partment, 687-5251.
I
~I
I,
