CONSTITUTION <br /> PREAMBLE <br /> Whereas the legal authority to license or register the practice of landscape <br /> architecture or the use of the title landscape architect shall rest solely <br /> ;with the in ividual boards which have been authorized by the respective state <br /> legislatures under the government's inherent police power to protect the <br /> public's h alth, safety, and welfare; whereas these state landscape <br /> architectura registration boards wish to expedite their work in as efficient <br /> <br /> a and econom'cal manner as possible; therefore, the state landscape <br /> ;architectura registration boards as represented by their delegates do hereby <br /> ;adopt the fo lowing Constitution and Bylaws, this 19th day of June, 1971. <br /> (ARTICLE I: E <br /> Section 1. Name <br /> The name o this organization shall be the Council of Landscape Architectural <br /> Registratio Boards, Incorporated. <br /> Section 2. Abbreviations <br /> Wherever t e word "Council" is used, it shall mean the Council of Landscape <br /> Architectur 1 Registration Boards. The word "state" when used shall mean any <br /> !political ubdivision of the United States of America which has a law <br /> regulating he title and/or practice of landscape architecture. The words <br /> "state boa ds" shall mean the legally authorized bodies of landscape <br /> architectur 1 examiners. The words "member boards" shall mean state boards <br /> which are m tubers of the Council. <br /> ARTICLE II: OBJECT <br /> I <br /> Section 1. <br /> The object of this Council shall be to promote high standards of landscape <br /> architectur 1 practice; to foster the enactment of uniform laws pertaining to <br /> the practi a of landscape architecture; to equalize and improve the standards <br /> for examina ion of applicants for state registration; to compile, maintain, <br /> and transmit professional records to member boards for registered landscape <br /> architects desiring this service; and to certify records and recommend <br /> registratio for landscape architects who meet the standards of this Council. <br /> 1 <br /> ('85) <br /> <br />
