Staff will be on hand each <br /> Wednesday until October 10, to explain and review the standards and to assist <br /> builders, developers, and architects with the new solar setback regulations. <br /> The olar setback standard requires new buildings or home additions to <br /> be setbac and/or designed to minimize the shade on neighboring buildings. <br /> Currently regulations protect the solar access of buildings in industrial <br /> districts but do not provide long-term protection for buildings in <br /> residenti 1 or commercial districts. <br /> i <br /> I <br /> In A gust of 1986, after a year of discussion, the Eugene City Council, <br /> M adopted p ovisions to the City's development regulations that protect the <br /> sun/solar access of development. The solar access ordinance has three <br /> parts.
