Bob Hammitt, <br /> maintenanc director, said residents should pile leaves in the street the <br /> weekend before their area is scheduled for pick up. Property owners will be <br /> <br /> ~r? responsibl for removing any leaves left on streets after January 5. <br /> Debris other than leaves, such as branches, rocks, metal, and lawn <br /> clippings, will not be removed, and scattered leaves and leaves piled under <br /> or very cl se to parked cars cannot be collected, Hammitt added. <br /> Public Works maintenance crews will collect on curb and gutter streets <br /> during th first round of pickup; streets without curb and gutter will be <br /> collected during the second half of the schedule, which begins Monday, <br /> December On streets with curb and gutter, Hammitt asked residents to pile <br /> leaves on the street surface near the gutter line, keeping gutters and catch <br /> basins op n to prevent flooding during winter storms.
