PUBLIC WO S DEPARTMENT • 858 PEARL • EUGENE, OREGON 97401 <br /> June 22, 989 <br /> NEWS RELEASE <br /> CONTACT: Pat Bayes, Engineering, 687-5228 <br /> Bob Terrel, Project Manager, 687-5382 <br /> From Sand a Gleason, Public Information, 687-5523 <br /> FOR IMMED ATE RELEASE <br /> CITY 0 COMPLETE RECONSTRUCTION OF LAST TWO BLOCKS ON THIRTEENTH AVENUE <br /> Wild sh Corvallis Construction Co., contractor for the two-year recon- <br /> <br /> 1 struction project on Thirteenth Avenue, will begin work on the last two blocks, <br /> from Patt rson to Alder Streets, on Monday, June 26. Construction hours will <br /> run from a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some weekend work is <br /> I <br /> planned. <br /> Crew will begin work at the intersection of Thirteenth Avenue and Hilyard <br /> <br /> s Street, m ving east to Alder. During the reconstruction of the block between <br /> Hilyard a d Alder, the street will be closed to through traffic, except for <br /> <br /> i <br /> emergency vehicles. The closure will last no longer than two weeks. Eastbound <br /> traffic w 11 be detoured around the construction site. <br /> When the first block is completed, the contractor will begin work on the <br /> block bet een Patterson and Hilyard Streets. Completion of the entire project <br /> is schedu ed for mid-August. <br /> Busi esses in the closed block will remain open, with parking available on <br /> adjacent treets.
