The commissions are <br /> <br /> ~,,,,j seeking t ree to five permanently affixed sculptures that will provide a <br /> high-qual ty attraction for both children and adults and will enliven the <br /> edge of t e new play area. <br /> Acco ding to Jan Bohman, project manager for the renovation of the <br /> downtown all, the two commissions favor bronze sculptures that depict <br /> i <br /> animals n tive to the state of Oregon, are safe for children to climb on, and <br /> are visually pleasing and easy to maintain. <br /> 'f <br /> The isual Arts Commission administers the city's municipal arts <br /> j ordinance, under which one percent of the funds from public construction <br /> j projects ver $50,000 is set aside for public art.
