"Installation Site" means the designated area at the Willamette Street <br />entrance to the Train Depot parking lot.. <br />1.3 Unless cancelled, terminated, or rescinded, the term of this Agreement <br />shall continue until City sells or otherwise conveys ownership of the Work to another <br />person in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement and shall be binding on the <br />respective parties' successors in interest. <br />2. Services to be Provided. <br />Artist team agrees to provide to City the following services (the Work) per their <br />selection by the Art Selection Committee for City of Eugene's 1 % for Art Project at the <br />Train Depot on May 6, 2005 and per the attached design drawings in Exhibit A. <br />2.1 Design and execute a Marker of Origin per Exhibit A drawing. <br />2.1 a. The Marker will be 30' tall, beginning on an 8' octagon concrete <br />base (to be provided by the City), accented with ~ 8 -1' high (#50) iron rails to <br />be poured in place at the time of construction. <br />2.1 b. Next in place will be 3-tier terrazzo ring bases, with the .bottom ring <br />measuring 5'4" in diameter. The bases will incorporate text: bottom ring <br />providing geographic and distance information; the second ring incorporating <br />City of Eugene and train depot information; the top ring incorporating text of <br />"hello" and "good-by" in many languages. <br />2.1 c. Capping the terrazzo rings will be a 1' band of steel (the interior <br />chamber thus formed will contain the source forinterior lighting); a built-in door ~- <br />will provide maintenance access. <br />2.1 d. The main trunk of the marker will forma 14' high tapered octagon <br />column with circling black and white ceramic tiles portraying different <br />transportation images. <br />2.1 e. Topping the ceramic base will be 8 (#12) .iron rails split and forged <br />into a design form; the split end of the rails will indicate the four cardinal <br />directions; spaces will allow visibility of the interior light. <br />2.1 f The top of the marker will consist of long stainless steel rods, which <br />will move freely in the wind; each forged end will be accented in gold leaf. <br />Artist team will work with the City and City's architect to design the 8' concrete <br />base; artist team will provide load information to the Ciity's architect. <br />2.3 Artist team will deliver the completed Work to the Installation Site and will <br />install the Work per arrangements with the architect and project manager. <br />2.3 a Per a form supplied by City, Artist team shall supply photographic <br />documentation of the Work and written instructions for removal, cleaning and <br />long=term maintenance. <br />2.4 City~will have the opportunity to review and approve text intended for the <br />bases. <br /> <br />Page 2 <br />
