S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District <br /> and the City of Eugene, Oregon, acquisition of native plants and seeds for the Amazon Creek <br /> <br /> wetlands restoration, section 1135 project <br /> Requesting._Agency: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District <br /> Servicing Agency: City of Eugene, Oregon <br /> Description of Services: Under this task order the City of Eugene will collect, treat, grow-out, <br /> store, transport, clean, and propagate native wetland and upland seeds and plant materials needed <br /> for the Amazon Creek Wetlands Restoration Project. This effort may include salvage of native <br /> plants from other wetlands sites. Under this Task Order, the city may also provide labor and <br /> equipment crews for weeding and other control of non-native weedy species. <br /> The Corps of Engineers Will: <br /> 1. Continue to provide management and funds for completion of the Project's Phase II, which <br /> involves a series of management prescriptions designed to restore small-scale surface hydrology, <br /> remove non-native species, and to plant and treat native plants with the goal of restoring a native <br /> <br /> Willamette Valley wet prairie wetland ecosystem. Phase II prescriptions will include filling and <br /> restoring small drainage channels, fill removal, removal of reed canary grass and other invasive <br /> species, mowing, burning, plowing and scraping. The Phase II work will be conducted under a <br /> Cooperative Agreement with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Eugene District. Corps <br /> staff will coordinate and schedule planting and seeding activities with City of Eugene and BLM <br /> staff. <br /> 2. In coordination with the City of Eugene, write and fund a separate contract for nursery <br /> services for propagating and planting native plant materials not provided by the City of Eugene as <br /> described below. <br /> 3. Provide, via contract rental, a tractor, drill and other necessary implements to seed and plant <br /> native materials. <br /> The City of Eugene Will: <br /> 1. Provide the services of a staff wetland ecologist or botanist to coordinate acquisition of plants <br /> and seed needed for the project: <br /> 6 mos. @ 3,000 per mo. $18,000 <br /> 2. Provide and clean native seeds required for reseeding disturbed and restored areas in the 1135 <br /> Project Area in accordance with the approved project planting plan.
