~ .
Steve Gallup Exhibit B
October 27, 2QQ6
Page 2
compaction. One laboratory Mr test will be conducted on a compacted sample to determine the
pavement design value for compacted subgrade.

' 3. Design Analysis & Report
The cumulative Equivaleflt 18-kip Single Axle Load (ESAL) repetitions (traffic. loading) for the design
period will be estimated from the traffic data that you bane provided. The pavement design and
overlay analysis will be accomplished using the procedures of the 1993 AASHTO Guide for Design of
Pavement Structures and the ODOT Pavement Deign Guide. ltecommendadons will be developed for
averiay of the existing pavement. Alternative asphalt. concrete pavement section designs will be
developed for new pavement. in widening and/or pavement reconstruction. The alternative pavement
designs will include consideration of construction staging w?th traffic operation on the base lifts. These
alternative designs will include construction on compacted subgrade and "cut and cover" construction
with fabric reinforced aggregate subgrade stabllization in lieu of subgrade compaction. The cut and
cover alternative may be advantageous to expedite crnnstrucdon in wet soil conditions andlor in areas
where subgrade stabilization is necessary, The design recommendations will be swnmarized in a
design teport together with design analysis documentation. Three copies of the design report will be
provided.
Project Fee
We propose to acconYplish tiu above described work scope on a time and expenses basis in accordance
with the rate schedule in our current Personal .Services Contract with the City (2003-00216 Amendment
#8).
