An approved Double Check Valve assembly installed on the service line, before the first branch <br /> line, will be allowed on the domestic metered service with the understanding that any in-house <br /> high hazard cross connections are protected at the point of connection with an approved Reduced <br /> Pressure Type backflow preventer (this would be any cooling, heating or injection make-up <br /> lines). A branch line for irrigation may installed between the meter and DCVA, provided the line <br /> is properly protected with a state approved backflow preventer as per plumbing code <br /> requirements <br /> A. Spring assisted hatch type access (minimum 3' x 3'); <br /> B. Permanently attached galvanized ladder (if more than 4' deep); <br /> C. Provisions for drainage <br /> D. As per the attached standard drawing, the test cocks of the backflow assembly shall be <br /> equipped with water tight threaded plugs or caps. <br /> E. All vault borings shall be grouted. <br /> I have included information to assist in the installation of these facilities. All backflow prevention <br /> equipment shall meet EWEB=s minimum installation standards (enclosed) and will be inspected by <br /> EWEB for compliance with these requirements.
