JAMES GEQENVIRONMENTAL SVCS.
distinctive major stratigraphic unit at Sites A and C and stored in plastic bags for chemical
analyses (fertility will be analyzed at both restoration sites and heavy metaUchlorine analyses
only at Site A). They will consist of one or two 250-300 gm. soil samples. A chain of
custody of the samples to be shipped to the KUO Laboratory in Othello, Washington, will be
maintained.
The composition and texture of a 2 %2 - 3.0' high berm that was built 50 years ago of
excavated material will also scrutinized as part of the general stratigraphy of the soil
sequence at Sites B and D, as well as in one site between them since a major part of this
material will also be removed. The majority of excavated material from the borings will be
returned to the hole or channel wall as soon as they are described to avoid leaving uncovered
dangers at the site
An initial report which should be completed within 10 days of initiating the project which
will include the description of soil units, thicknesses and noteworthy characteristics of each
one with approximate volumes of each to be moved. When both nutrient and heavy metal
values have been received from the laboratory (approximately 10 days after their arrival to
the lab) the fertility and chemical aspects will be incorporated into the final report. It will
include boring logs, a 2 or 3 dimensional view of the soil sequence in both planned
excavation areas, Atterberg Limits, preliminary mineralogical results and soil nutrient levels
by unit. An appreciation of construction limitations of each unit will be presented.
The following will be the content of the report

r REPORT OUTLINE:
Chapt. 1.
