Chan a Order 7
JUSTIFICATION FOR CHANGE
1. Brief description of the proposed contract change(s) and location(s).
Section 5 of the Construction Contract requires the project phases to be completed on the following schedule:
Phase II - 120 calendar days after the issuance of the 2005 Notice to Proceed
Phase III and IV -October 15, 2006
This change order modifies the above schedule of completion as follows:
Phase II -All Paving, Marking, and Grooving -July 14, 2005
Phase II -All Remaining Work -September 1, 2005
Phase III -September 1, 2005
Phase N -December 1, 2005
Runway 3/21 will be permanently closed and available for construction on June 1.
If the schedule is delayed due to rain, the City will require the Contractor to accelerate their work until the project is back on
schedule. Compensation for the extra work will be negotiated at that time.
The Contractor is authorized to spend up to a total Contract amount of $10,000,000. The total contract amount is not
changed by this change order. The additional funds due for Grant 35 are expected to be available on April 15.
Sheets 7 and 8/124 will be revised as follows:
Delete the note that requires Phase II to be complete before Phase III can begin.
The Phase III boundary will be expanded west to include the portion of Runway 3/21 located east of the safety area of
Runway 16R/34L.
The schedule of completion of the phases will be adjusted as described above in Section 5 of the Contract.
2.. Reason(s) for the change(s) (Continue on reverse if necessary)
The City of Eugene requires that the new parallel runway and taxiway system be opened on September 1, 2005 for use by
both commercial and general aviation aircraft. This requires completion of paving, marking, and grooving on Runway
34R/16L no later than July 14 for a flight check by the FAA and all remaining work on Phase II, Phases III and Phase N to
be complete and available for commercial and general aviation aircraft no later than September 1, 2005.
In order to accomplish this schedule, it is necessary to begin work on Phase II earlier than the existing Contract schedule
allows.
2
