Public Works
Parks & Open Space Division
City of Eugene
1820 Roosevelt 81vd.
MEMORANDITM Eugene, Oregon 97402
(541) 682-4800
(541) 682-4882 FAX
www.ci.eugene.or.us
Date: June 7, 2006
To: Johnny Medlin, Parks and Open Space Division Manager .
From: Carolyn Weiss, Landscape Architect, Parks and Open Space Division
Subject: Extension for Wetland Delineation and Permitting at Delta Ponds Boardwalk

A six month extension of the time for completion is requested for delineation and permitting services
conducted by Coyote Creek Environmental Services, related to the construction of a boardwalk and
overlook.at Delta Ponds. To date, the wetland delineation is complete and a first draft of the DSL/ACOE

Joint Permit Application (JPA) has been submitted to Staff for review. Remaining tasks prior to submittal
of the JPA include refinement of illustrations and a detailed assessment of the overlook impacts, which is

contingent upon the development of plan details for the overlook.
The original completion date was May 30'i', 2006 allowing the possibility for boardwalk construction in
summer/fa112006. Staff and the consultant are currently working on higher priority improvements at

Delta Ponds; construction of the boardwalk and overlook is now scheduled for 2007, allowing a more
flexible completion date for the permitting task. The new completion date is November 30`x, 2006. This
is a no-cost extension. The contract amount is $6,710.

For more information, contact Carolyn Weiss, 682-4914.
