As you know, I am very familiar with the project vicinity, having _
conducted rare plant surveys and wetland scoping investigations for the Chad .
Drive Extension project over the last several years.
Project Understanding
The City of Eugene is moving forward with plans to improve North Game Farm
Road, from the recently completed County portion on the north, to the existing
improved section just past the I-5 overpass. Improvements will include a center
turn lane /median and bicycle lanes on each side of the widened pavement.
Sidewalks will be added to the south side of the new roadway, with roadside
ditches on the north side of the road.
You have requested this proposal to assist in the preliminary environmental
evaluation of plant and wetland conditions for federal funding purposes.
The following is my recommendation for the tasks, and my best estimate of the
time and costs, necessary to see this project successfully through the potential
issues.
Task 1. Research Existing Conditions
Based upon our conversations, I will:
a. Conduct a reconnaissance of the area for wetland and / or riparian
vegetation or apparent wetland conditions;
b. Perform an Oregon Natural Heritage Database Search for rare species
c. Compile all existing information
d. Coordinate with Lane County and the Cities of Eugene and Springfield
regarding recent environmental investigations in the vicinity;
Task 2. Documentation of Findings.
