Mark wants his Property
Officers to charge their time when appraising properties to a capital project. A capital project dedicated to this function is
being established. As is our procedure for this type of project, the project # will end in a zero. This will exclude the charges
from being part of fixed assets. These are properties that will be put up for sale and because a capital fund paid for them
originally, the revenue will go back into a capital fund. Mark wants to make sure the Property Officers time is covered.
Peggy Keppler has set in motion an Admin Order process that will allow an appraisal fee to be charged to any citizen that
initiates an appraisal. A new revenue object code has been requested. Since the bulk of these are ROW parcels, the
revenue and project expenses are being tagged in the 312 Road Fund. The thought behind this is that this fund will be the
recipient of sales revenue more times than not. A follow up meeting with the Real Property Officers will happen at FY end
each year to determine if some of the revenue/expenses should be transferred to another fund. This type of transaction
doesn't happen very often, but this is another avenue being covered as far as the PSF fund is concerned.
Any thoughts or concerns?
Thanks,
Peggy Hamlin
Financial Analyst
Public Works Administration
682 5834

9/2/2005
