BACKGROUND AND PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />The purpose of this Scope of Work (SOW) is to help the City of Eugene ("Agency") satisfy the <br />requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Section 4( fl of the <br />Department of Transportation Act, Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 358.640, 358.920, 358.653, <br />390.235 and the Archaeological Resources Protection Act. This work must be conducted by an <br />Archaeologist who meets the Secretary of Interior's Professional Qualification Standards of 36 <br />CFR Part 61 Appendix A in the field of Archaeology. Under this SOW, Contractor shall prepare <br />Archaeology Baseline (or Phase One) Report, a Programmatic Agreement (PA) Memorandum for <br />a Minor Transportation Project and any contingency tasks authorized in writing by Agency. <br />Archaeology Scope of Work -GJN 4479 <br />
