About 1,300 properties in Eugene are served by these indirect or"spaghetti network"wastewater lines. The City has
developed a program to replace many of these lines over the next several years. This year's project will improve service to
approximately 40 properties. Project costs are being funded through the reimbursement component of the Wastewater
SDC Fund.
Construction to replace substandard wastewater service lines is substantially completed on Blair Street from 4th to 5th
avenues, and work is currently underway in the vicinity of 12th Avenue and High Street. The project will then shift to Hilyard
Street between l4th and 20th avenues for six to eight weeks, with final cleanup scheduled in late December. The
construction includes excavating the street to expose the wastewater system, installing new sewer lines and fittings, and
patching the street when the underground work is completed.
