The responsibility for dog park issues has also been delivered over to Public Works. I have been out of the loop on both of these issues for some time. HOWEVER. . . . Since these issues originated in PARCS, and since you asked me and not PW, I will make sure that you get answers to your questions. I received a call and a long letter from Bob Freeman. His complaints are typical of park patrons who use the dog run. Your plan to site the dogs run free area at Morse Ranch has been supported by city council and by the park commission. I had hoped to see a year's trial free of added controversy. I know that Ruth Bascom, and Randy MacDonald have also heard from numerous citizens with strong opinions about the management of Morse Ranch. Can you.shed any light for me on: 1. Why the parks department is initiating a plan for the park at this particular time. 2. Why we have involved the Morse Historic Park Board which as ? far as I know has no more status with the city than the Mooses and Elks and which has a clear private agenda.
