LGOG's Bicycle Route through Quiet Local Roads is Better for Bicyclists—All Ages All Capabilities
LCOG's"Draft TransPlan—Bicycle System" clearly illustrates a route for cyclists through Morse Park. This
draft route travels through the Crest Drive Neighborhood along less traveled local streets. If you know the
neighborhood, view these streets: Intersection of 28th and Madison,Morse Family Farm Edge
(undeveloped),Lafferty Vest Pocket Park, FullVue/Horizon, Monroe /35th-36th Street, Upper Crest
Drive/Blanton,Crest Drive Elementary School. This route is primarily paved, consisting of local streets with
cul-de-sacs.Small rough paths and gravel roads and easements connect the chain of existing paved
streets. The amount of pavement and signs needed is minimal with the exception of Morse Park.
If all cyclists—young adult, commuter, recreational and elite—would join together with curiosity and
energy, asking with a smile, "Do you know of a neighborhood path connecting 28th with Morse Ranch Park?
Do you know how to get from Lafferty Park to Crest Drive Elementary School? Do you know of a
pedestrian/cycle path that is safe, beautiful and inviting?" The answer is "Yes! Come along and discover the
local back roads and gentle slopes of our hidden neighborhood!"
Support our neighborhood goals.Thank you.
Meg Stewart-Smith
CDCT Advisory Group, 2008
Street Team Leader for Lower Crest Drive 2007
Masters of Landscape Architecture, UO 1995
346 Crest Drive
Eugene OR 97405
