MEMORANDUM
Date: November 16, 1993
From: Bob Hammitt
To: Christine Andersen
Subject: SHELDON HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL FIELD LIGHTS
Dick Morgan received a letter from Jonathan Lauch, Administrator of Facilities
Maintenance and Planning, School District 4J, requesting that the City provide
funding support for the removal of the light poles at Sheldon High School
basebase ball field amount of $4,436. The amount requested is 50% of the
actual pole and light fixture removal cost. The school district will cover
the other 50% of the pole removal , disposal and 100% of the transformer
disposal .
Even though we have no money budgeted for this purpose, I plan to authorize
payment from the general fund of $4,436 as I believe this is a minimal cost to
the City to alleviate responsibility for Sheldon Field. I would send the
school district a letter that the City considered the payment to meet all
current and future obligations for the Sheldon High School baseball field.
Let me know if you would like this handled in a different manner.
cc: Jim Johnson
Doug Post
Dick Morgan
