According to the City's Vegetation Program Manager Eric
Cariaga, the growing season this year is particularly intense.
"We're two weeks ahead with inspections of hazardous vegetation
conditions and we re identifying many more issues than in
previous years at this time," says Cariaga.
The City requests the cooperation of property owners in monitoring
and maintaining vegetation on both undeveloped and developed
property. Property owners are notified through newspaper
advertisements and/or by letter. If a problem persists, the City
may correct tall grass and weeds on undeveloped property any
time between June 15 and September 30 without further notice.
For problems on developed property, the property owner will be
notified by letter any time during the year and given 10 days to
correct the violation. In either case, if it is necessary for the City to
rectify the problem, the property owner will be charged for the cost of trimming. The minimum charge is$166. For more
information about this program, call Eric Cariaga at 682-4821 or visit www.ci.euaene.or.us/pw/vede/talidras.htm.
THIS WEEK
NEXT WEEK
05/19 M 5:30pm Council Budget Committee Council Chamber
05/19 M 6:00pm DK Joint HRC Mtg. with Lane County
Human Rights Advisory Committee Juvenile Justice Center ""
05/20 T 6:00pm DK Human Rights Commission McNutt Room
L. 15/21 W 5:30pm Council Budget Committee Council Chamber
Milw05/22 Th Noon G Poling CVALCO Board Meeting Autzen Club, Autzen Stadium
UPCOMING
05/26 M Memorial Day Holiday- City Offices Closed
05/27 T 4:00pm JT Mayor's One-On-One Council Chamber
05/27 T 5:30pm All Council Dinner Work Session McNutt Room
05/27 T 7:30pm All Council Meeting Council Chamber
05/28 W Noon All Council Lunch Work Session McNutt Room
05/28 W 1:30pm SM,DK,GP IGR Committee McNutt Room
June
06/09 M 5:30pm All Council Dinner Work Session McNutt Room
06/09 M 7:30pm All Council Meeting Council Chamber
06/11 W Noon All Council Lunch Work Session McNutt Room
06/11 W 1:30pm SM,DK,GP IGR Committee McNutt Room *
06/18 W Noon All Process Session Library/Bascom Room
06/18 W 6:00pm All Joint Elected Officials Springfield City Hall
06/23 M 5:30pm All Council Dinner Work Session McNutt Room
06/23 M 7:30pm All Council Meeting Council Chamber
06/25 W Noon All Council Lunch Work Session McNutt Room
06/25 W 1:30pm SM,DK,GP IGR Committee McNutt Room
July
EUGENE CITY COUNCIL NEWSLETTER PAGE 4
