These maintenance activities coincided with the first freezing temperatures of
the winter last week.
Restrooms were closed at approximately half of the city parks including Ascot, Fairmount, Graham, Maurie Jacobs,
Monroe, Shasta, Sladden, State Street, Tugman, and University parks. The rock restroom at Hendricks Park was also
closed. All other park restrooms have been weatherized and do not require winter closure. Drinking fountains are still
available throughout most of the winter at Pre's and Adidas running trails and at certain locations along the bike path.
Park facilities will be restored in early April. For more information, call Park Amenities Supervisor Eric Johnson at 682-
4904 or Turf and Grounds Supervisor John Clark at 682-4826.
OSPIRG Students Help Restore Willamette River
As a steady stream of Duck fans migrated to Autzen '-a, M •
Stadium for Saturday's football game, more than 40 ,' " , e
students from the University of Oregon and Lane
Community College spent several hours removing
afr, 1
invasive blackberry bushes and planting native plants { E + •
along the Willamette River.
