Airspeed
Skateparks, the Florence firm hired to design and build the park, will help facilitate the
meeting.
The new skatepark will be located at Bethel Community Park, just south of Barger
Avenue between Legacy Street and Haviture Way. Construction is scheduled to begin
later this summer.
For more information about the session or to give input, contact Carolyn Weiss, City
parks planner, at (541) 682-4914.
###
HELP RESURFACE ADIDAS RUNNING TRAIL IN AMAZON PARK THIS WEEKEND
Lane Forest Products, Magic 94, New Country 93, Pizza Hut, and the City of Eugene
invite interested community members to help resurface the Adidas running trail and
make running on the Amazon Park trail smoother Saturday, June 22, 10 a.m. to noon.
The event will begin at the parking lot at 24th and Amazon.
Volunteers will rake bark on the running trail. Volunteers in Parks Coordinator Chris
Girard asks volunteers to bring a rake and a pair of work gloves and wear sturdy shoes
or boots. A limited number of rakes will be available at the event.
"This has truly been a community effort," says Girard. "Thanks to all the sponsors for
making this event possible and a special thanks to Lane Forest Products for donating 33
units of bark."
All volunteers will receive free New Country 93 or Magic 94 T-shirts, Super Natural
potting soil from Lane Forest Products and pizza.
For more information or to sign up, call 682-4845.
###
