The event will take place at Roosevelt Yard, 1820 Roosevelt Blvd,, from 8:30 <br />a.m. to 3:00 p.m. <br />Public Works Day is an annual event that showcases the City’s Public Works Department <br />and provides a fun and safe environment for children and adults to explore the wide range of <br />services Public Works provides every day. The yard will be filled with interactive informational <br />booths intended to engage children and teach them about Public Works. Additionally, numerous <br />pieces of equipment will be on hand to captivate the imaginations of young people with guided <br />tours, games and characters. <br />“Public Works Day is fun for children and adults of all ages,” said Kim Mast, coordinator of <br />this year’s event. “It’s also a fun way for the City of Eugene to feature our services and the people <br />and equipment that make the city of Eugene sparkle.” <br />Public Works Day is a yearly event that coincides with National Public Works Week and is <br />projected to set a new attendance record this year. National Public Works Week is a celebration of <br />the tens of thousands of men and women in North America who provide and maintain the <br />infrastructure and services collectively known as public works. <br />Free parking will be available at the event. Lane Transit District will be providing a free <br />shuttle from Downtown Eugene Station to and from the Roosevelt Yard as well. <br />If you would like more information about this event, visit the Public Works Day website at <br />http://www.eugene-or.gov/pwday.
