Estimate of Amount that would be spent through contracting for the remainder of FY01
(April - June).
Pruning Contract Estimate:
The costs to staff an in -house pruning crew will be used as the basis for a per month pruning
contract cost. As an estimate, position crew costs and equipment maintenance rates are used.
Position Cost per Month 3 Months Total Cost
Lead $4,873.00 $14,619.00
Groundman $4,042.00 $12,126.00
2 ° Groundman $4,042.00 $12,126.00
Boom Truck $1,100.00 $3,300.00
Chipper $290.00 $870.00
Total Cost $14,347.00 1$43,041.00
Total Cost for 2 $86,082.00
pruning crews
Hazard Tree Removal Contract Estimate:
Hazard tree removal for the past 2 years is used to determine an average spent per month. The
per month times 3 will be the estimate for the remainder of FY 01.
$3,050 per Month (Avg) x 3 Months = $9.150 for remainder of FY 01
Emergency Response Contract:
Since the winter storm season is about over, there may not be a call for this contract through the
end of FY 01. However, based on past experience, there is a high probability of one minor event.
This type of event would result in an invoice of less than $1,000, and is considered negligible for
this experience estimate exercise.
Total Estimate for Contracting - Remainder of FY 01:
One contract Pruning Crew: $43,000 Pruning + $9,150 Haz Tree Removal = $52.150
Two contract Pruning Crews: $86,000 Pruning + $9,150 Haz Tree Removal = $95.150
