v
CITIZEN REVIEW OF URBAN FORESTRY SERVICE PROFILE
The Neighborhood Leaders Group reviewed the service profile for Urban Forestry. Although
this group has no official oversight responsibility for the Urban Forestry program, it was felt that
their input might be valuable because of the neighborhoods involvement in the "Neighbor
Woods" program that Urban Forestry promotes.
A copy of the service profile and a survey were distributed to the Neighborhood Leaders Group
before their meeting on November 26. At that meeting, the group spent about 25 minutes
discussing the profile results.
Feedback on Policy Areas:
Mission:
Ouestion to the group: Do you agree the mission statement captures the essence of why this service system
exists?
Responses: Yes _5_ No Maybe
Summary of Comments: The word "enhance" was unclear to four of the respondents. Many
respondents wanted the mission to reflect some type of expansion or improvement of the City's
urban forest.
Action Taken: The service team replaced the "enhance" with "improve" in the mission statement.
Outcomes:
Question to the group: Do you agree the outcomes reflect the longer range desired results to which this
service's outputs contribute?
Responses: Yes _4 No Maybe _1
Summary of Comments: One respondent liked the education and preservation outcomes.
Another respondent stated "there should be an outcome that focused of serving the citizens of
Eugene."
