Lor PWM Staff Event Purpose <br /> Public Works Maintenance Management Team, (Jeff Lankston, Lacey Risdal, Jim McLaughlin, <br /> Tom Larsen, Eric Johnson and Tony Jobanek) requested the help of PWM employees for <br /> identifying five year strategic planning goals. <br /> Themes <br /> Themes were items that came up repeatedly or in response to more than one topic. You will see <br /> some of these themes among the action items. <br /> • Utilize technology but don't lose sight of the big picture and the ultimate goal of getting <br /> the work completed. <br /> • Field crews to understand budget <br /> • Field crews to understand how vehicles are charged to the organization, lifespan of <br /> vehicles within the organization <br /> • Increase interaction /communication among work crews <br /> • Increase and improve public education about PWM through marketing <br /> • Concerns about temps: More accidents? Taking regular jobs? Time invested in training. <br /> • Modify /eliminate PW Day <br /> • Modify /eliminate Leaf Program <br /> First 5 Action Items <br /> Management team will start by taking action with the first five and then proceed down the list. <br /> With each item you will see who is responsible for initiating and planning the action, the goal and <br /> the progress that has been made toward the goal. If there's an area where you have ideas or would <br /> like to be involved, talk to Katie Blair, who will help you connect with people already involved in <br /> the project. <br /> 1. Work groups set productivity benchmarks <br /> • To be addressed by Jeff Lankston and Kevin Grabofsky <br /> • Goal: To balance workload and increase equitable accountability <br /> • Progress: Planning process to begin March 17, 2009. <br /> 2. Teach public about less -known PWM Services (marketing) <br /> • To be addressed by Katie Blair and Wayne Masoner <br /> • Goal: To decide key messages and develop a marketing plan including <br /> web site, recognition, brochures <br /> 5 <br />
