The <br />reorganization will result in a much shorter response time in enforcing the <br />city's ordinance that requires property owners to control_ a4 -Yblackberry <br />vines, poison oak, weeds, and grass on their property and within the <br />right -of -way abutting their property. <br />Johnny Medlin, public works maintenance planner, urged property owners <br />to respond to the city's notices <br />as possible. The ordinance give <br />are notified to take care of the <br />throughout the year on developed <br />30 on undeveloped property. <br />"With the limited staff and <br />about mowing or removing vegetation as soon <br />s property owners 10 days from the time they <br />problem. The ordinance is enforced <br />property and from June 15 through September <br />resources we have had in the past, we were <br />unable to consistently follow up within the time frame established by city <br />code," said Medlin. "By combining the duties of several programs, we now <br />have more staff available to dedicate to the program, shortening the time it <br />will take us to respond. So, if a property owners expects it to take the <br />same time for us to respond, they may find we have already mowed their <br />property and billed them for the work," Medlin continued. <br />Medlin said the city charges $75 an hour, with a $75 minimum charge. <br />
