7 \:122 )
December 1, 1988
To: J.R. Medlin, Maintenance Planning Supervisor
From: Jim Stuart, Vegetation Inspector
Subject: Amazon Channel R/W Inventory; Martin St - Fern Ridge Reservoir
For this discussion the Amazon channel's total centerline distance of approx-
imately 12.55 miles is dived into four sections:
1. From Martin St. to Cityview
2. Cityview to West llth Ave.
3. West llth Ave. to Terry St.
4. Terry St. to Fern Ridge
There are two tables which accompany this report. Table 1 uses "shore line
distances" rather than centerline distance since certain easements or FEE
ownerships encompasses only one half of the channel leaving the other half
still to be obtained. Table 1 shows, by the above referenced sections, the
centerline distance, the shore -line distance of FEE & easement right -of -way
access and access distances needed and by percentages.
Table 2, using certain assumptions, show the specific taxlots from which access
rights need to be acquired as well as distances, area and a very preliminary
estimate of the cost of acquisition. The cost of acquisition did not consider
the added cost for bike /pedestrian rights that may also be needed.
In the Engineering R/W section, Ken Doud's office, there are R/W descriptions
written years ago for many of the parcels herein described as still needing to
be acquired. However, these old descriptions may not be sufficient to assure a
full 20 foot wide maintenance strip on each side which is now being required.
