J
News Release -- Right -of -way mowing
May 4, 1987
Page 2.
Under the new policy, enforcement will focus on the City's previous
mowing routes and on those sites where complaints are received. Staff
will send letters to property owners in violation, notifying them they have
10 days to mow the right -of -way. If mowing is not done, the city will mow
it, and bill the property owner for the work.
Hammitt urged property owners to take care of the mowing themselves.
"The minimum charge for mowing is $75, and by doing the work themselves or by
hiring a contractor to mow it, property owners should save considerable
money," he said.
Public Works crews will continue to mow along the unimproved section of
arterials, such as llth Avenue.
Information about the mowing policy is available from Public Works
Maintenance, 687 -5220.
# ##
