` I I happen to result in a violation of the stormwater pollution ordinance.
1 I shared this opinion with Ms Geirs and told her that I did not believe
that
I the City would have any authority to prevent this application. (the
alley
I I is relatively level with no obvious vector to carry the chemical
directly
I into the channel. Ms. Geirs objected to my interpretation of the
situation
I and stated that in a conversation with Les Lyle on 4 -28 -95 that Les
felt
I I that there was a problem with a pesticide application at this site, as
the
I chemical would leach into the channel. She asked why I hadn't spoken
with
( I Les so that we would be in agreement on this issue. I was not aware
that
Les had made an assessment of this situation.
What position is the City taking regarding the potential for leaching
to
1 the stormwater system of a pesticide chemical applied to an adjacent
area
with no obvious or apparent flow (discharge) of the chemical to the
stormwater system? Are we taking the position of stopping a pesticide
application if it is felt that some of the chemical may leach into the
stormwater system. I would like to be sure that I am giving out
accurate
information to the public regarding this issue and that we (I) are
consistent with other City staff.
Thanks, Kevin
< < HARRIS.LET : 4153 in HARRIS.LET > >
-- Boundary (ID 5 + LI9epC3wnueCSwo9IFZw)
Content -type: APPLICATION /OCTET- STREAM; NAME = HARRIS.LET
Content - description: HARRIS.LET
Content - transfer - encoding: X- UUENCODE
The following binary file has been uuencoded to ensure successful
transmission.
