Other costs to consider would be the system charges for the trunking system. In addition to the
current monthly maintenance rates being paid on the mobiles and portables in service there would
also be the $35.00 monthly system charges for every radio on the system. This would add
approximately $10,185 per month or $122,220 per year to have all the radio equipment on the
trunking system.
Summary
Within the next three years the City of Eugene Public Works Department will need to implement
a comprehensive work plan for our communications needs to meet the upcoming federal
regulations on radio frequency narrow banding. Once we have a direction as to which system we
are favoring we will be able to start working with vendors to solidify quantities and costs of the
equipment.
If you have any questions I will be more than happy to try and answer them.
Attachments:
1.
