03/21/2006 10:26 FAX 541 682 5414 CITY MGRS OFFICE Z002
Dear Kitty Piercy,
I have lived in Eugene and played soccer my whole life. It is of concern to me about
where the AYSO, Kidsports, and club teams have been playing the past several years.
There is quite an injustice that is being played out in the area of Eugene /Springfield.
Salem, Portland and Corvallis are just some of the cities that have major soccer
complexes in their area_ Eugene has many soccer clubs that deserve a well built soccer
complex_ Traveling becomes an issue for the Eugene/Springfield players because there
are no stadiums that can have several games going at onetime. Tournaments can not be
held in this area because of that issue as well. I do not think that it is one bit fair to the
soccer players of Eugene to not have the same opportunities that other parts of Oregon
have. The University of Oregon and Oregon State University are very prestigious
schools when it comes to playing soccer and if girls in this area do not have the equal
opportunity then what is that saying? It would be so nice to have a soccer complex here
in Eugene that tournaments could be held, spring, winter, and fall seasons could be held
and summer workouts could be done by many and not just by some. All I ask is that you
consider the future of America, the kids, and what is in their best interest.
Thank you for your time,
Kallee Apo
4
I.eQ A rno
AA
t-ugek‘c o c
F 7 FEB
•
\T
91 ptcu/ i +. i Qs
'91 Dt Yr o
Ildukt,lAm mlhildludi,1rflimitlldlm ilA
