Please note limited vehicle parking on Saturdays and Sundays as referenced above. Dog training in the fields
away from the ponds is allowed only with prior written permission from lease- holders of those fields. Please
note: dogs are only authorized to be off -leash when engaged in in -water training activities. Your permit does
not authorize you to have dogs off -leash in the park for any other purpose.
No use of shock collars or powered launchers is allowed on Saturday and Sunday. Use of live birds as training
aids is prohibited. Use of bird parts as training aids must comply with the rules established by ODFW on that
subject.
We anticipate algae blooms again this year, and there is a significant risk to dogs that come in contact with
toxins in the water. We will continue to post signs at the park when there are blooms as we have done in the
past. Please educate yourself about algae blooms and pay attention to water conditions before allowing your
dogs to train in the ponds. For current information on blue -green algae blooms, visit
http: / /www.healthoregon.org /ha b.
Enjoy the park and thank you for referring your colleagues and friends to our office for in -water dog training
vehicle access permits at Golden Gardens Park.
Sincerely,
Neil Bjorklund
POS Planning Manager
(541) 682 -4909
City of Eugene • 1820 Roosevelt Blvd. • Eugene, OR 97402 • 541- 682 -4800 • 541 -682 -4882 Fax
www.eugene - or.gov
