Specifically the rule addresses and allows training during certain times of the
year when in the past that activity has been prohibited. It also provides a lawful way for domestically
reared wildlife to be shot or taken by a raptor outside of a normal hunting season when in the past that
activity has been prohibited. Further information, and a link to the permit form which continues to be
required to release domestically reared game birds, can be found here
http: / /www.dfw.state.or.us /wildlife /dog training /index.asp. The permit form is also attached. The rule is
temporary in nature and will expire on July 25 , 2011 or when permanent rule making occurs, which ever
happens first.
Please let me know if you have any questions
Regards,
Blandon S.
