<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />September 25, 2014 <br /> <br />CONTACT: Scott Gillespie, Project Manager, 541-682-2706 <br /> <br />From Public Information Section, 541-682-5523 or 541-954-2938 <br /> <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> <br /> <br />Sections of Delta Highway Closed Three Nights for Bridge Work <br />Construction of a new bridge over Delta Highway at Goodpasture Island Road will require lane <br /> <br />closures on Delta Highway the nights of Tuesday, Sept. 30, through Thursday, Oct. 2. <br />The northbound lanes of Delta Highway from the Goodpasture Island Road off-ramp to the <br />Goodpasture Island on-ramp will be closed for one night, Sept, 30, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., to place precast <br />concrete slabs over the northbound lanes. Northbound Delta Highway will remain open but drivers will be <br />required to use the off- and –on ramps at Goodpasture Island to portage around the construction zone. <br />The southbound lanes of Delta Highway from Randy Pape’ Beltline Highway to the Goodpasture <br />Island Road off-ramp will be closed for two consecutive nights, Oct. 1 and Oct. 2, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., to place <br />precast concrete slabs over the southbound lanes. The Goodpasture Island Road southbound on-ramp will <br />remain open for vehicles turning from Goodpasture Island Road to southbound Delta Highway. The off-ramp <br />from eastbound Beltline to southbound Delta will be closed at Beltline, and traffic exiting westbound Beltline <br />at Delta will be required to turn right. <br />During all three nights, Goodpasture Island Road will be reduced to one lane with traffic control, and <br />lane restrictions and flagging will be in effect. Motorists should expect delays. Use alternate routes and <br />surface streets if possible. <br />The new bridge has been under construction for several months and is expected to be completed in <br />late November.
