<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />September 12, 2014 <br /> <br />CONTACT: Ariel Coleman, Sunday Streets Coordinator, 541-501-0390 <br /> <br />From Public Information Section, 541-682-5523 or 541-954-2938 <br /> <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> <br /> <br />Sunday Streets Coming to Harlow Neighborhood on September 21 <br />On Sunday September 21, several streets in the Harlow neighborhood will be converted to <br />entertaining and enlightening uses as Eugene celebrates its second Sunday Streets event of the <br />year. <br /> From noon to 4 p.m., more than a mile of residential streets will become the setting for live <br />music, local food, games and family-friendly fun. Streets that will be used for the event include <br />portions of Harlow Road (Palomino to Honeysuckle Lane), Palomino Drive, Country Lane and Rustic <br />Place. <br />At the event, 350 free helmets will be given away, sized toddler to adult. First come, first <br />served. The giveaway starts at 1:30 p.m. at the North Park Community Church Lawn activity center. <br /> The free event is designed to events promote healthy, active living by opening the city’s <br />largest public space - its streets - for people to walk, bike and roll to discover active transportation <br />in a safe, traffic-free environment. Community members are invited to bring their bikes, <br />skateboards, roller blades, or just their own two feet to enjoy the event.
