30 May 1995
John Etter
Johnny Medlin
Public Works Maintenance
1820 Roosevelt
Eugene, OR 97402
Dear John and Johnny:
The following report summarizes the field sampling and estimating procedures used to
calculate an estimate of flowering plants for the Lomatium bradshawii population in Amazon
Park.
As you will see, the flowering plant population is much higher than previously believed, and
therefore, may play a more important role in the hopeful, future downlisting or de- listing of
the species. NPSO is working on the draft Habitat Conservation Plan developed by Laura
Todd of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and we hope to have a draft to you soon. We
have forwarded a copy of the attached report to Laura and to the Oregon Natural Heritage
Program so that they may update their data bases.
If you have questions about this project or the report, please do not hesitate to call.
Cordially,
Bruce Newhouse
Emerald Chapter, NPSO
cc: Ed Alverson, Engineering Division
Laura Todd, USFWS
